Istanbul!

 I am sitting in at the airport  in Singapore as Im writing this, dead scared to fly but i know it will be worth it in the end. Havent seen my bestfriends for a year now and I miss home like crazy!I think Singapore kind of makes you a bit crazy if your in the city for too long (coming from something that you can almost classify as a small village in oslo). Theres always things going on  and drinking and events and suddenly you loose grip of what reality is and how short the days are.

back to the flight -
why does everyone look like a terrorist at the airport and all the bags look like their chucked with bombs?

and on the plane why are people changing diapers in the open, like SERIOUSLY theres hundreds of people who wants to throw up unvillingly smelling that. unnecesaryyyyy!!!

And why on earth am I in...

My Holiday In Istanbul;

Day 1 - Arrived in Anka Hotel, 30 minutes away from the airport. Met this Australian chap who was stranded in Istanbul for a couple of hours. As the two lonely tourists we were, we decided to have a drink in the bar and try to do some sightseeing in the City. We took the tram to the Blue Mosque, and also walked towards the sea where we found tons of stray cats and dogs. We were entering a building where suddenly a dog sleeping outside woke up and decided to chase us and barked furiously. Jason, the Australian walked camly while I was totally freaking out telling him I think were gonna die but luckily it stopped chasing us at some point.

After that, Jason had a flight to catch and I went sightseeing alone to the huge Bazar with tons of everything everywhere! Funny thing being a tourist in a unknown country, because everyone barely speaks English, I have no freaking clue about the currency, tried to figure it out looking at the starbucks prices but I didnt know if its considered an "expensive country" or not lol!I didnt know that there was actually anything to see in this country either but there are tons of historical buildings and nice small alleys and boutique shops, - if it wasnt 10 degrees (winter or something here?) I would definetly consider this as a very tourist friendly place (minus alot of sleazy men and the fact that no-one speaks proper english). Look at this video below, it really shows the best sides of Istanbul; (Istanbul was even awarded the European capital of culture) ;

Turkish apple tea!

This man, shafiq showed me around in the Area, he also owns this shop that sells bellydancing equipment and insisted Id try it on! He also owns a shop that sells bag and I was lucky enough to get one for free (real leather clutch bag) =)
 He also insisted that I put on this lovely bellydancer outfit lol.

conclusion of this city; Definetly go during summer, they have beautiful islands and sea and some of the smaller alleys reminds me of italy! Alot of things to shop and culturally its beautiful.

by the way. my flight was actually delayed so i Missed my connecting flight and was stuck in a sneaky streetcorner of istanbuls projects for 24 hours! but ended up ok though.
