So, Why am I still here again?

People keep wondering when Im going to come back to Oslo, being a graduate now and all. This is the first summer I have ever missed in Norway, and it was hard for me to make the decision of not going back. The summer in Norway is more beautiful, the people during summer are lovely. After a long depression of darkness the sun comes out early and goes down at 11 at night. You go home from a party and its safe and light. Everytime the sun is out, people make an effort to drag themselves early to go to the beach, everyday if possible, just to make sure they can catch the water while its still warm during the day. Everytime the sun is out, the busses are packed with happy kids and families. And everytime the sun is out, there is an extreme amount of people who call in "sick" to work. And not to forget to mention, when the sun is out, there are thousands of people bulking up in the endless small parks in town, having their own mini-bbqs and drinking sessions untill the sun sets.

Outside my house:

Friends on the beach:

one of my best friends (last picture) is gonna kill me if he sees this gay picture im putting out of him haha.

School holidays in Norway are 3 months. That would mean 3 months of way to many spring and summer partyes happening, wether its on a bus, in a forest by the lake, in a park or in somebodys house.

Being able to live with four seasons makes you appreciate these things more. Especially the fact that you can go out without layers and layers of clothes on your shoulders.

There is never a lack of things to do during the summer, and I miss all my friends like crazy.

So again, why am I still here?

There are tons of things that annoys me about Europe, as much as there is annoyance of things here in Asia too.

Well I know the fact that people try to hide from sleazy europeans here in Singapore, because alot of the men (especially french, no offence), Swedish and even Norwegian feel like they have so much power then others when they are travelling. Everytime they go to spain, turkey, Bulgaria, they party like crazy, because "what happens overseas stays overseas". Its like being in europe being in those countries with all the crazy european partycats all over the place. And the Europeans are so proud of their culture and heritage. Not that theres anything wrong with that. So, when I do see those europeans partying the same style over in Singapore, and trying to pick up every single asian girl, (I hear them talking about every girl passing by sometimes discussing whether she would be good or not in bed) I feel sick. Because their sleazyness over here in Singapore is not accepted and to think that smart asian girls would ever fall for that is so wrong. They cant overpower anyone and they look stupid and desperate with their sleazy acts. I am of course not discussing ALL european guys as I do know there are maybe some good of them somewhere (?), but in Singapore Alot of them make a horrible impression.

Europeans in Europe are not that bad. They dont think they have that "I can get any girl i want in this club" attitude. Why does their mindsets have a spin when they go overseas?

Theres tons of things that annoys me in Norway, especially that everything is so damn expensive. When the snow falls, the busses stop working the first day, they can never adjust to sudden climate change, the subways stop and cabs are too expensive to take, so your stuck out in the cold. Winter sux because you cant wear your heels gracefully when there might be ice under the layers of snow. Last winter, the -20 degrees killed alot of people. Winter is cold but also beautiful though:

It annoys me that they dont have proper housings and places for drug-addicts to stay in town. They are scattered all over the main shopping street, and so are the prostitutes. Thats why tourists often get the worst first impression of Norway. Oslo is constantly apologizing for beggars, prostitues and drug addicts. Just have a quick look at this article: "Visitors to Oslo say they're "shocked" by the sheer numbers of prostitutes, beggars and drug addicts who now sometimes aggressively accost people right in the heart of town, on the capital's parade boulevard Karl Johans Gate." http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article2618910.ece

I came to Singapore not knowing anyone or anything but the number to Mcdonalds. Maybe thats why I became fat. And now Im soon planning on getting my drivers license here, I have an album releasing soon with my band, I have a walk-in-wardrobe, and I have to lovely hamsters. And most important I have a job I love doing, which is rare to find in Oslo nowadays with an owerpower of design graduates. Its the hardest news to tell my friends back in Oslo I want to stay on a little while longer here in Singapore, but if they ever come over Im sure and hope they will understand.

I love it here. The amount of new things that you can see, the casinos and new shopping malls, the parks, the beach, the beach parties, the hidden get-aways, the cheap cabs, the fact that anything feels more possible here right now then it does living in Oslo. So for now, I might have to stay a little while longer.
